What Is It?: “What Were You Wearing?” is a student-survivor art installation that
originated out of the University of Arkansas in 2013. The installation was created
to dispel rape culture myths which place blame on victims for what they were
wearing. The installation features quotes from survivors of sexual assault,
describing what they were wearing when they were assaulted, along with similar
samples of clothing.
When Is It Happening?: “What Were You Wearing?” will be displayed on
the Portland campus October 18-29, with a kick-off Coffee Break
reception featuring iced coffee and flavor shots on October 18 in Innovation Hall, 116 from 12:00 – 1:00pm
