Meet the Team!
Dr. Anuja Doshi received her dental degree from Government Dental College & Hospital in Mumbai, India, and her MS and certificate in Periodontics & Moderate Sedation from the Ohio State University (OSU) College of Dentistry. Dr. Doshi also completed ADEA's Academic Dental Careers Fellowship Program (ADCFP) during her time at OSU. Upon graduation, she joined the University of New England as a full-time faculty and is currently the predoctoral periodontal program co-director. Dr. Doshi is the UNE representative for ADEA Council of Faculties and weTeach advisory board member. Dr. Doshi's commitment to periodontal education has been recognized by the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP). In 2019, she was awarded the Dr. D Walter Cohen Teaching Award, and in 2020 she received the Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics award, AAP Foundation's Fellowship to attend Institute for Teaching and Learning Program, and the AAP-Straumann Scholarship.
Hailing from Lewisville, Texas, Garrett graduated from Jesuit College Prep in Dallas and then the University of Oklahoma before moving to Portland, Maine to attend the University of New England College of Dental Medicine. Garrett works part-time at the office of Corey + Then in South Portland, Maine as an assistant and Patient Care Coordinator. Garrett is working towards a Research Honors Distinction, presenting work at the AAP Annual meeting in Miami, FL and ADEA Conference in Philadelphia, PA. Garrett will be attending postdoctoral training in periodontics upon graduation from UNE at the Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education!
Josh was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Williston, Vermont. He graduated from the University of Vermont with a major in biological sciences and continued his education at Rutgers University, where he received a Master of Biomedical Sciences. Josh is amazed by the role that periodontists play in restoring health and function to failing dentitions. He hopes to further his training after graduation from UNE by attending a postdoctoral program in Periodontics. In his free time, Josh enjoys to ski, mountain bike, and cook.
Currently finishing up her second year of dental school at UNE, Lauren grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where she attended undergrad at Northern Michigan University and studied Microbiology along with Health and Nutrition. During college, she worked in both a general & pediatric dental office as an assistant. She made the big move to Maine for school and have been loving it so far. Right now, She is enjoying working with patients in the Oral Health Center and learning about periodontics and pediatrics!
Samantha was born and raised in Boca Raton, Florida. After graduating from the University of Central Florida in Orlando with a Health Science Pre-Clinical Degree, Samantha completed a Dental Post-baccalaureate program at Temple Dental School. While at the University of New England, she has discovered a strong interest in her periodontal classes and expects to continue and apply her knowledge in the UNE Oral Health Center.
Michael is a second-year dental student and a native of Wrentham, Massachusetts. During his education in Biological Sciences at UNE, Michael spent the summers working as a a surgical assistant at The Boston University Medical Center Oral Surgery Department. While at UNE CDM, he has developed an enthusiasm for dental implants and periodontal surgery. In the future, Michael is interested in pursuing a postdoctoral education in periodontics.
Ethan is a second-year dental student at UNE and is the Periodontology & Dental Implants Club's Graduate and Professional Student Association (GAPSA) Representative for the 2021-2022 academic year. Ethan has a strong interest in periodontal plastic surgery and dental implants and is looking forward to working with the other members of the club to propel the Perio Club to new heights!
